Before this leadership program, I was a really good doer - but I didn't have a lot of faith and trust in others to do the doing for me. The leadership coaching gave me the tools to figure out who I can trust, what they need help with, and how to communicate effectively.

The two tools I'll always use are pre-framing and how-and-what questions. I pre-frame exactly what needs to be done, show them what to do, and then use those questions so they come up with the answers themselves. My new staff are already self-sufficient - they're figuring things out, then coming to me just to verify. More often than not, they're getting it right.

Another huge shift for me was learning how to hold people accountable without damaging the relationship. I can go to someone now and say, "Hey, we spoke about this - fix it up," and I don't have that fear of losing the team culture, because they've given me permission to call them out. Everyone has genuinely gotten better at their job because of that accountability.

What I really appreciated was that Lisa understood things I didn't necessarily agree with, calibrated them to what worked for me, and never forced anything that didn't fit. It's been a very natural progression of my skills - I didn't have to become someone different. I just got better at the things I was already doing.
